The 90s are largely known as a time when questionable fashion choices in Bollywood films were the norm. It was hard to find a look you could replicate in real life, even for a costume party. This is probably the reason that the good fashion moments in films from that decade were so rare and such a huge deal. So, we decided to do some digging, and find the outfits we love the most.

Check them out below.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Kajol's best fashion moments happened in this movie, but this particular outfit really outdid them all. It's something one can still wear and look stylish, especially owing to its Kim Kardashian-esque cropped top and bodycon skirt-style silhouette. We love!

 Dil Toh Pagal Hai

Karisma Kapoor in this slinky and shimmery charcoal-grey slip dress was the one time Bollywood truly was in trend.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Archana Puran Singh's pretty pastel suit with a bodycon dress underneath, was a sexy take on classic formalwear. The graceful pearls made the outfit even more girly, amid a sea of garish sportswear and ghastly lehengas in the rest of the movie.

Biwi No. 1

While Biwi No. 1 may have been a ridiculous movie, Sushmita Sen's goddess-like ability to rock every outfit made it a very visually pleasing film to watch. This look is a classic 90s combo of matching separates with knee-high boots.

Ishq

Kajol's lime green bodycon dress and Juhi Chawla's black cropped top and flowy miniskirt combo made for quite the fashion moment in this song.

Dulhe Raja

Barring the odd 90s eyewear, the hair and makeup along with the glamour and sheen of this high-necked bodycon maxi dress on Raveena Tandon are droolworthy. Styled differently, with a dash of red lipstick, and a sleek hairdo, it would be the stuff of dreams.

Ghulam

Rani's cute tennis-outfit style dress was a sweet and casual take on off-duty dressing that one can still replicate in real life.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Madhuri Dixit's great fashion moments are normally confined to ethnic clothes. But this outfit was something we totally loved, owing to the fact that it is a trend which is very much back now. Don't be surprised if you see Kylie or Gigi in something similar very soon!

Jeans

Aishwarya Rai is beautiful always, but in this black gown, she is even more stunning. Glamorous and fit for a Miss World, it was one of the best black gowns Indian cinema has seen on screen.

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

Way before Kareena's famous pink lehenga, came Aishwarya Rai's iconic and dreamy shell-pink outfit, inspiring many wedding outfit ideas for Indian brides and bridesmaids.
